Many of us have been reading for many years and have repeat clients over that time period. Psychic readings really get in to the hearts, heads and spirits of callers. Regular clients call often enough that we hear their most difficult situations, as well as the joys in their lives.
Over time it feels as if we really ‘know’ them and clients can often feel the same way. We hear your pain and celebrate your joys with you. Even though we may never have met in person, we often develop important and lasting relationships. Some of us are available 24/7 (or close to it) and are always there when friends, family or relatives are not.
We basically devote our lives to helping clients cope with life’s issues, be they good or difficult. It is not unusual to go through several relationships with the same client, especially if they have been a ‘regular’ for a long time. So, in a way, we do become their friend, so to speak.
However, what callers may not realize, is that, even though we are friendly, warm and caring, we are always focusing on the client. Clients do not focus on the reader. In other words, it is, in a way, a one sided relationship in which the client is the main topic of discussion.
It has been my experience, that clients are not really interested in hearing about the reader. Psychic readings are their main agenda, which is understandable, as that is what set the ‘tone’ of the relationship in the beginning.
Once the professional relationship boundary gets broken, it is usually the psychic that feels differently about the situation. Most of us do not really have an interest in sharing about our personal lives. In order to keep the relationship on a professional, yet, friendly level, most of us just concentrate on the client – it is not usual for this to happen the other way around.
Professional boundaries get broken when the psychic starts talking about themselves. Somehow, this begins to erode the relationship because the client wants to be the center of the relationship. It is difficult for the reader to really become ‘friends’ with the client because the client is not open to or receptive to be on the giving end of the relationship.
The relationship was formed with the client at the center, which is as it should be. Once the reader starts to divulge personal issues they may have, the client, usually not equipped to really help the reader and feels that they can no longer get what they need – a psychic reading, astrology reading or a tarot reading.
We get to know your day to day lives, your children, friends, pets and relatives. We get to learn about you over the months and years we read for you. Most professional psychic readings are just that and need to be kept that way. It can be a delicate line crossed when the professional wants to engage the client in their lives.
This begins to destroy the original and professional relationship and should be kept to a minimum. It is a fine line and needs to be handled well so that the client can continue to get what they are paying for – psychic readings. The personal issues, desires, hopes, wishes and dreams must be kept down to a minimum if the client/psychic relationship has any chance of surviving. It is best to stick to the client’s issues and keep your personal thoughts, opinions and wishes for the client to yourself.
The SyFy Channel’s summer filler, Mary Knows Best aired it’s finale Thursday, August 5th. The short-season series centers on Mary Ochinno, who gives psychic readings on her Sirius-XM satellite radio show, Angel On Call and her family. Mary has several adult children, Chris, a playwright, Carl, a journalist, and Jackie, restaurant manager turned model.
Mary Ochinno gives psychic readings to callers to her show, as well as to clients in both group and private sessions. She does nearly 200 psychic readings a day! She’s been a professional psychic for decades and is highly accurate. Sometimes perhaps, too accurate!
Last week’s episode of ‘Mary Knows Best’ focused on a road trip she took with Jackie to Salem, Massachusetts. Mary wanted to celebrate Jackie’s decision to quit her job as a restaurant manager and pursue careers in modeling and singing. After a quick stop at a casino, where Jackie hit triple 7s on a slot machine, winning a $1,000 jackpot, the two headed for an encounter with their past lives in Salem.
Mary’s clairvoyant skills are well developed, given that she’s doing 200 psychic readings a day. No sooner than they reached Salem, Mary and Jackie parked and walked down a wooded path where Mary was sensing something. They came across an old tree which Mary claims she had been hung as a witch.
Later, they walked through a cemetery where Mary located the spot where her daughter Jackie had been hung as a witch in her past life. Jackie also has clairvoyant talents, as do sons Chris and Carl, but they do not practice them. Mary knew the names of Jackie and her past lives and they soon found the tombstones bearing those names. The two women had been sisters accused of witchcraft and were tried, convicted and hung in 1684.
On a lighter note, they happened across a local clairvoyant who gave Mary a psychic reading. Mary did not tell her anything at all about herself, but the local clairvoyant immediately named and described Mary’s father, uncle and aunt, all of whom were deceased. Naturally, the clairvoyant sensed Mary’s skills. Mary told her that she had only had three psychic readings by others in her life and she was by far the most accurate and authentic.
Being a Reality TV series, we get plenty of insight into the family and their ups and downs. Chris, for example, is preparing to do a tour as a motivational speaker. He’s also pursuing a radio show of his own, ‘Para-Nation’, which deals with a wide range of paranormal topics, such as the works of Zecharia Sitchin. Sitchin was a major proponent of extraterrestrial involvement in human evolution.
But on last night’s episode, Chris’ main concern was over his hairy backside. Since none of the other family members would shave him, he went to a parlor that does waxing. Mary was happy to see his smooth back, but still disappointed that Chris did nothing about his super-hairy chest.
Meanwhile, Jackie pursued her modeling career by getting photos take for her portfolio. She had done some modeling in the past and was determined to move forward. Meeting a modeling agent for lunch, Jackie quickly found herself in a moment of synchronicity. The agent it turns out also had a mother who did psychic readings! It’s a small universe, isn’t it!
On a lighter note, Jackie talked both her Uncle Charlie and her father into helping her find a date for Mary. They set up a profile for Mary on an Internet singles site and then reviewed print-outs of eligible bachelors. Needless to say, when Mary returned home, she quickly sensed that something was fishy and put a quick end to the project.
While ‘Mary Knows Best’ was only a short-seasoned, summer filler for the SyFy Channel, the series did help promote the reality of clairvoyants and psychics. The psychic readings Mary gave, and she gave many, were very accurate and you can tell by the reactions of those she read for that they were impressed. Many of whom were not clients, just people Mary bumped into on the street and felt compelled to share something with them. Psychic readings from professionals like Mary Ochinno demonstrate the value of getting a reading, of finding validation and useful insights to help one in their daily lives.
To get the most out of psychic readings, the same rules apply in getting the most out of anything. Preparation! Being prepared always makes any experience better, especially in regards to efficiency and enjoyment. The same is true for getting a psychic reading. Taking a few minutes ahead of time to prepare yourself is very useful.
For starters, time is money. So, it just makes sense to take a few minutes prior to seeing or calling your favorite psychic to get ready. Grab a paper and pen and jot down the topics you want to be covered by the psychic. Organize your thoughts. You may even want to write down the specific questions you want to ask.
Especially for some of us older folks, myself included, the old memory is not as good as it was in the days of our youth. How many times have found yourself thinking about something all day and then at the ‘moment of truth’, completely forgetting it? Sure, it’s on the tip of your tongue, but the question or words are not coming out at all, are they?
Some psychics like to do general readings first to ‘get in tune’ with their client. There is nothing wrong with that. We all have our particular methods and habits. But, as I said before, time is money and as the client, you certainly do not want either of yours’ wasted. Personally, I enjoy jumping right into the core of the matter straight off. When clients call me with specific questions, I’m happy as a clam. Being able to focus on a person or image is very helpful and increases accuracy.
Another aspect of preparing for a psychic reading is being honest with yourself. This is very important. Not only does it not do you any good but dishonesty or avoiding unhappy news will cloud the ability of many psychics. For us to ’see’ the future, we need a clear window. No obstructions, no shadows, nothing for the truth to hide behind. Self-honesty can take some courage, but in the long run, we’re here to help YOU! If you don’t let us help you, then we can’t.
I am one of those who sort of goes along with the old saying, “Good news can wait, bad news can’t.” When a client calls and hears something that they don’t want to and they immediately hang-up, it doesn’t do them any good. The main reasons for getting a psychic reading is to obtain clarity, insight and information. Mistakes, stumbles and disappointments are part of the life experience. In my opinion, it is better to know when to move on than to stay stuck in the mud.
The last point I would like to make about preparing yourself before getting psychic readings is take notes. Many times people call while they are driving and cannot write what they are being told. So, whenever possible, it is best to make the call at a time when you can relax and record what you are being told. Being relaxed is also important. We always learn better when we are calm. The fewer distractions the more productive the experience. This day and age we do live busier lives and cannot always set aside a quiet moment. So at least try to remember what you can and write it down as soon as possible later.
With these tips on preparing yourself prior to receiving psychic readings, I hope you will see the benefits and enjoy the reading more. You’ll be happier with the results and the psychic will appreciate the effort and seriousness of your approach. So be relaxed, be open and be prepared!
When doing professional psychic readings, we run across many types of questions as professionals from people in just about any situation you can think of. Questions range from love lives, career and family issues to the strange and bizarre.
Sometimes callers want answers beyond the scope of what we can answer for them both legally, ethically and morally. While I don’t like telling a caller that their mate is cheating on them, however, I will if they ask. Many people calling don’t really want the truth, so, unless they ask, I don’t say anything even though I can ’see’ it.
Many people call and want to know what is wrong with them physically. They’ll ask questions that we again, legally cannot answer. I will tell a caller if I ‘see’ or ‘feel’ a back pain and to go have it checked out by a professional in the health care industry. People don’t realize that we cannot prescribe any kind of medication or diet changes. We cannot tell them not to eat this or that. We can tell them what we ’see’ but only up to a certain point. That can sometimes get into shades of gray and I usually steer away from it, especially when they have not contacted a doctor.
I often get asked about legal cases and what the outcome will be. This can often come up when a caller wants to know if their mate will get out of jail soon. Other types of calls that I will not get into are those involving legal custody battles in a divorce case. Again, that is between a caller and their lawyer and is to be taken up with a professional.
There are two more categories which I do not recommend a caller ask – questions related to death and gambling of any kind including lottery numbers or horse races.
Death is a subject that comes up under circumstances where a caller wants to know when they will get their inheritance, or when they want a bad news mate out of their life. This is like a vulture waiting for the spoils. It is hard to imagine why anyone would pay to have psychic readings predicting the demise of a person they know but it does happen. I get a very bad taste in my mouth from this type of call.
The funniest calls are from people wanting to know which horse will win the races this Sunday. And my favorite is a caller who wants to know if they will win the lottery and the numbers it will take for them to win! If I could pick the lottery numbers, I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this I can guarantee it! I would be enjoying myself on a warm beach somewhere in a tropical climate this time of year!
I think many people who call for psychic readings really don’t understand that most of the information we receive is not in black and white, yes or no answers. Answers come in many ways depending on the talents of the psychic. The general public has is not aware of this and is sincerely mis-informed about what types of information we can actually pick up for them.
I find that most often, the information I receive is what they need to know which over-rides what they want to know. I give the information to them and it is up to them to decipher how it fits in their situation. I don’t always understand what I receive, so I give them what I see. The caller needs to understand that we give the information and it is up to the caller what they do with it. We, as professional online psychics, don’t always know what the information means to the individual we are giving it to.
As many countries in the world struggle with growing debt, governments are looking to new, and in some cases, not-so-new sources to generate revenue. Romania, land of mystery and ancestral home to one Vlad the Impaler (more commonly known as Dracula) has decided that its witches, who are the soothsayers and psychics known for their gifts, needed to help the beleaguered Romanian Government towards some kind of economic recovery.
By passing laws which recognize the practice of witchcraft as a profession which could be taxed, those practitioners who do psychic readings now are taxed on the fees they receive from their clients.
While the idea of having to pay taxes on income from psychic readings certainly isn’t novel (as most of the readers here on PsychicCosmos.com can attest to) the Romanian leaders also decided that there needed to be a quality control on readings and are considering regulations that would levy fines or prison time if the predictions weren’t accurate.
Needless to say, the witchcraft and psychic community has been less than pleased. This displeasure was first evidenced by the ritual dumping of mandrake root into the Danube River to attempt to place a curse on the government. (One could only imagine what form that kind of protest would take here!). The Witch Queen (yes, there is one in Romania), Bratara Buzea, pointed out that this smacks of the “kill the messenger” approach; her response: do not to blame the readers, blame the tarot cards.
While the political haggling (no pun intended) is comical, some of the points made on behalf of the witches/psychics are well taken, and certainly can impact the kind of readings that someone receives, whether in Romania or from sites such as PsychicCosmos.com.
In her comments, Queen Bratara pointed out that many times, clients may not be truthful about their situations, names, or other details that help readers define the issues at hand. She asks an important, if rhetorical, question: If a client is dishonest about their questions, can the reader be blamed if the reading goes wrong?
So, the next time you seek out a reading, please be upfront with your psychic so that they, in turn, can provide the quality of advice that you need. And, as for the Romanian witches and their ongoing opposition to the proposed laws, some have suggested a more direct approach: place a spell (or two) on the Romanian Government to make it more efficient and to generate jobs. In the long run, that may be the best approach.
