The turkey recall has been issued because of Listeria found over a wide region in the US and will effect millions of tables this Thanksgiving. This is a scare to beat all scares especially since the US eats more turkey on Thanksgiving Day than at any other time during the year. It will affect the turkey farmers and every grocery store you and I shop at. That is a bummer because not all turkey’s are the object of the US Department of Agriculture latest recall of 2600 pounds of the sacred bird.

Most of these suspect turkey’s are confined to a private label and are the smoked variety, not the fresh-frozen varieties. The Food and Safety Inspection Service found Listeria during a routine sampling which triggered the recall.

Who is responsible for the Listeria scare?  I have a strange feeling that this could have been a ‘plant’ by the pork industry which will boost ham sales dramatically this year. It wouldn’t surprise me if, before the year is out, we have yet another food scare sometime during the holidays to boost the sales of yet another product.

My feeling is that this is a market manipulation.

Another reason could be that Jupiter just went direct, opened up and shined the light on this serious issue just in time for our Thanksgiving holiday saving us from getting ill.
