With the astrological month of Cancer slightly more than a month a way, this is a great time to examine the impact of the ruling planet of the Sign of the Crab-the Moon. The true Goddess of the Evening Sky is known by many names: Diana (Roman), Artemis/Hekate/Selene (Greek), Arianrhod (Celtic), Dae-Soon (Korean), Coyolxauhqui (Aztec), Chandra (Hindi), Oolijee(Navajo) are some examples. Perhaps her most common nickname is Luna, the Roman Goddess who, like Selene before her, was the personification of Earth’s closest celestial neighbor.
Almost universally referred to in the feminine (which begs the question of where the Man in the Moon fits in), Luna’s role in influencing the tides and cycles in general here on Earth was known from antiquity across most cultures. Yet to those who look to the heavens to chart the future, the effect of the Moon is so much more. With significant lunar events occurring in a short span in the next 30 days, the potency of that beacon of the night sky will be even more enhanced.
The Moon deals with emotions and those internal rhythms which dictate how we react to the challenges in our lives. It could be said that the Moon’s key energy is one of “reaction”. Much as it reflects the light of the sun, so too does Luna also reflect our internal light. Our memories, dreams, imagination, feelings are all impacted by lunar cycles. Agricultural cycles, animal behavior, fluids, opinions, the sea (and all on or under it) moods, births, deaths and insanity also owe psychical allegiance to Artemis Diana as she shines down upon this frail blue orb.
The Super Moon which occurs on May 5th. I have written previously, both here on Psychic Cosmos and elsewhere about what a Super Moon is. Much like the Super moon that occurred on March 19th 2011, the effects of this full illumination will be felt far beyond the actual day. To begin with, the heightened emotions of Cinco de Mayo are going to be enhanced by Luna’s energies. But, mingled with the copious amounts of alcohol and partying, chances for erroneous impressions, over reacting emotionally, and impulsive behavior that could have far reaching consequences, particularly on the political stage, may be brought to the forefront “by the light of the silvery moon”.
Since the holiday is a celebration of the defeat of the French on May 5th, 1862 by Mexican forces, it would not be surprising if France and or Mexico again were illuminated by this Super Moon as part of the sesquicentennial anniversary. Given that the second round run-off of the Presidential Election is also scheduled for May 5th and 6th, there could be a literal turning of the tides that could shape not only the political but financial landscape of the Eurozone as well.
As if a full moon, the Super Moon phenomena, and Cinco de Mayo weren’t enough, Luna also goes void of course on both May 4rh and May 6th. In astrology, the term “void of course” refers to the time that the moon is between signs. Although it can be a relatively short period-often in minutes or hours-that time period is a time when mistakes are made, chaos on various levels can ensue, and nothing works right. With everything out of sync, the best advice is to be still and ride out the time.
Ironically, the Super Moon, Full Moon, Cinco de Mayo is bracketed by two of these periods. That combination could impact communications-both through failing altogether or being jumbled and misunderstood much like a Mercury Retrograde on astrological steroids but for a shorter time frame. Any plans, particularly those on a national or global scale will fall far short of their intended results and, in some instances, could be-in modern parlance-an epic fail.

Dark Side of the Moon Shadow Side of the Future
This week marks the Autumn Equinox and a change of seasons. For many, the start of fall on September 23rd is viewed as a time of harvest and, hopefully, a change in the seemingly ongoing drama that marks the daily news on the political, national, financial and world fronts. Whether it is unrest in North Africa, our own economic situation, or the seemingly unending barrage of natural disasters and challenges, the desire to put it all behind us as the seasons change is almost overwhelming.
Yes, this is the time of the harvest, both in the karmic sense as well as, the traditional meaning. The stars, too, seem to reflect this harvesting of what we have sown. These are truly changing times as this season clearly marks.
Just three days after the Equinox, a powerful stellium promises to bring some dramatic seasonal shifts to this planet and its inhabitants. A stellium is an astrological term to describe a multiple conjunction of at least four planets in one sign or house. Astrologers differ on whether it is the sign or house which should dictate whether a stellium is present. My own particular belief is that it is the sign which controls since a sign can span two houses.
What will occur from September 26th through the 29th is the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Saturn will all be residing in Libra and spanning the 12th and the 1st houses. Addtionally, there is another Super Moon, a new moon this time, on September 27th. As before, the Earth, Moon and Sun will all be in alignment and the Moon will be at its closest to Earth.
The effect of the Super Moon earlier this year is still be felt in a variety of ways around the globe. With that in mind, one must certainly pay attention to the upcoming lunar event that will occur in just a couple of weeks. Many writers have noted that Super Moons do seem to have an impact on earthquakes. Given the increased seismic activity in the last few days, it would seem that this may be a prelude to a significantly more extreme event.
Stelliums act like a cosmic battery, overcharging the impact of the planets involved as well as, the signs and the houses. Specifically, the energies involved become obsessive. Here, the Lunar impact on emotions magnified by Venus collides and confounds with Mercury the Messenger on communications of all types. Much as the Sun can magnify energy and heat when shown through a magnifying glass, so too does the proximity of Old Sol to these other planets add to their intertwined energies.
Of particular concern is that this astrological configuration overlaps the 12th and the 1st houses. The 12th house is concerned with large public institutions (think governmental bodies) and hidden matters or agendas. What we see may not be what we are going to get, especially in the financial realm. This is traditionally the house of self-undoing, making those decisions or taking actions which ultimately will work against the desired outcome.
Given the toxic environment on political fronts, both here and abroad, expect some abrupt over-reactions that could lead to more unrest or worse. A financial crisis could come shooting in from left field that could leave both leaders and the public scrambling. Combined with an Equinox makes it especially worth noting.
Libra, of course, is represented by the scales and symbolizes the karmic balance that is constantly in flux. The stellium’s effect is going to through this balancing act which is severely out of whack. We may well get that “Aha!!” moment, but at a high price and, possibly, too late to avoid the consequences. This does not mean that everything ends, but, rather, that the Humpty Dumpty has gone to omelet land and that we are left picking up the pieces.
It must also be remembered that this is all occurring as Pluto transits Capricorn. As I have written previously, Pluto’s presence in this transit denotes a time of transformation and ending those systems (and beliefs) whose time has past. Structures (man-made, institutional, financial and political) that do not support growth will crumble to be replaced by the new forms.
This background of astrological activity is a major reason why the coming Equinox, the Super Moon, and the stellium could well mark a true change of seasons on many levels and a karmic harvest of unique and unexpected proportions.

Astrology as Predicted is Happening
Well, here we are again with major destruction from Oklahoma to North Carolina when tornadoes hit with fierce vengeance leveling homes, businesses and farms on April 17th as the full super moon arrived again. It has killed at least 44 people to date and is one of the worst weather storms that have plagued the area in several years.
This could well be the precursor to a very bad tornado and drought season for the USA and in particular Texas. It is not looking good so far and I feel this tornado season will be far worse than most. Damage to crops is one of my biggest fears because we are already on the brink with rising food prices which I have also talked about in previous articles.
On March 7th, I predicted severe weather patterns, increased seismic activity and tsunami warnings. Japan was struck on March 11th with a most horrific 9.0 earth quake and tsunami whose nuclear disaster on the planet has yet to be known. The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear plant is still leaking toxic waste and experts say it could last many months to come. No one seems to know when the damage will cease from the nuclear plant.
Food prices will continue to rise here in the US and elsewhere in the world. Rising oil prices will continue to reflect what we pay at the gas pump and will affect what we pay for literally everything. Our paychecks will dwindle because of what we have to pay in rising prices – wages will not be going up any time soon.
There are going to be very ugly battles as our Congress wrestles with each other during this time period. There will be damaging press coverage which will not help. This is not going away anytime soon and will escalate during the Fall months.
Extreme Super Moon Shaking the Shape of Things to Come
7.6 Earthquake Strikes New Zealand
On March 16th, I said that Japan’s woes with earthquakes were not over. Monday, April 11th, they got hit again with a 7.0 (depending on where you read it). I hate predicting things like this, but, when I see it coming, I feel compelled to write about it. Don’t think for a minute that Japan is done with earthquakes. I feel strongly that there will be another one very shortly – somewhere within 3 or 4 days of this last full Super Moon on April 18th.
I also wrote on March 16, that Mexico may experience an earthquake. On April 7th, both Mexico and Japan were struck with earthquakes. Expect to hear in the news that the New Zealand area will get struck again by a large quake and tsunami warnings. This will happen during the summer of 2011.
Their continued struggle with adequate food and clean drinking water is not over either. Basic survival for these poor people is a daily task and I don’t see much improvement over the next few months.
They are survivors as they have proved in history, however, because of the radiation, I feel that we may never hear the real truth about the coming health issues they will be facing due to radiation on their island nation.
Financially, they are, and will continue to be, in grave financial trouble for many, many years. They will limp along but I see food shortages as a major issue.
They will end up selling their investments in Europe and the US to get the money they will be needing for rebuilding and survival. This will put some of the world’s largest financial markets at risk which will become evident this year.
I do hope that all of us can take heed and at least get your emergency kits in order because it can happen to us just as it did in Japan.

Super Moon Shaking the Shape of Things to Come
With word of the 9.0 earthquake off the coast of Japan March 11, and the tsunamis that have already hit Japan’s northern coast, astrologers and other psychics who have been maligned recently as “unscientific” or just to be modern day Cassandras, find themselves in the odd position of both being proved correct and yet saddened that the events that their castings and readings foretold have come to pass.
There is no pleasure taken in having been correct about this disaster. Yet, clearly, those who look at the stars, feel the vibrations in the earth, and channel other alternative sources of information have tapped into the primal source and wish only to share this knowledge as a way of trying to warn/prepare those who inquire of them in the hopes that some of the more dire effects of these events can be mitigated.
When one looks at three key planets, Mercury, Uranus and Pluto, it is abundantly clear that this may well be just the first wave of an impending crescendo. Just a few days ago, Mercury conjoined Uranus and entered the sign of the God of War, Aries. The Mercury the Messenger clearly is showing us that the unexpected upheavals we are witnessing will only increase as the Aries influence strengthens. This may well mean that Gaia (Earth) may well demonstrate her displeasure in the old order and is determined to make that message clear to all.
Signifcantly, Uranus also entered Aries today. As is well known, Uranus is the planet of upheaval and catastrophe as well as genius. Combine those elements with the potent force of Aries and what we have seen March 11th may only be a precursor to things in the next few weeks.
Pluto, as I have noted before, continues to be the key to all this. March 13th, Pluto and Mercury enter a conjunction with a Super Moon close at hand. Even though the message may seem clear: That things are going to change and that the transformation may be both dramatic and dire, there may well be a second, deeper and more important message hidden in all the chaos. We all need to look and listen closely, not just to events like the earthquake, but other things that may be obscured in our 24 news cycle but which have even more tumultuous effects.
And, if all of this were not enough, Daylight Savings time also occurs on the 13th. So we are going to “spring ahead” or are we? The messages and portents are there; it is but for us to pause and understand their meaning.
We shall see.

It should be kept in mind that the Equinox, whether Spring or Fall can bring in more than just a seasonal change. It is a marker for things to come, both good and not so good. Either way, it presents challenges that are worth noting.
