The old adage is that “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb”. For those born under the sign of Aries, substituting “ram” for lamb would be a more accurate description. As the first sign in the zodiac calendar, Aries, the Ram, is also the herald of the Vernal Equinox which occurs during the passage of this sign across the heavens. Not surprisingly, Aries’ element is fire and its polarity is masculine. Additional, it is the first of the four cardinal signs highlighting both the positive and negative of the element of flames.

The month of Aries 2013 promises to be the most active astrological month of the year so far. While the intensity will impact everyone, Aries natives are going to experience these energies in a magnified way. Having an awareness of what the heavens may hold for those whose natal celebration resides under the sign of the Ram may provide the insight necessary to weather the cosmic chaos that could unfold. As they do every spring, the children of Aries look askance at what their natal month portends.

Right from the outset, the astrological activity ramps up as the Vernal Equinox occurs on March 20. At the same time, Venus joins Mars and Uranus in Aries on March 21 making giving new meaning to the words spring fever. The period from March 22 right through the end of the month promise to be particularly intense. The combination of Venus and Mars both in Aries promises emotional fireworks with intense highs and lows in the realm of relationships, romantic and otherwise.

On March 22, Mars conjuncts Uranus both in the sign of the Ram. This aspect is a potent force that will lead to impulsive acts, sudden realizations, and the desire to take that leap into the unknown. Taking risks can pay off but impatience can also be disastrous. Be an actor rather than a reactor to maximize the positive potential of the energies rather than impulsively charging off in all directions.

The ruling planet of Aries, Mars, continues to make its energy felt as it enters into a quincunx with Saturn of the 25 and square Pluto on the 26. The Mars-Saturn aspect throws a kind of astral monkey wrench into the self image and life outlook. Time management also seems to be out of kilter now. The square with Pluto further compounds the complexity of this week for Aries natives as the tendency to be emotionally forceful is accelerated. Romance and fidelity could also be impacted as the desire for passion may outweigh other considerations.

The full Moon in the month Aries occurs on March 27 while the moon is in Libra (the opposing sign of Aries). This moon has been called the Chaste Moon, Lenten Moon and Worm Moon. As the first full Moon of spring, it symbolized the end of winter and a beginning of new life and possibilities. Being in the opposite sign from Aries, the Lunar impact may be to add to balance and perspective to the intense energies that are following during that week.

Venus and Mercury are going to play a dominate part from March 28 – April 3. Venus conjuncts Jupiter on March 28 bringing with it an optimistic and indulgent influence. Combined with the energies of the Sign of the Ram, this could lead to expansive desires for the most pleasurable things in life. It is a great time for natives of this sign to start a new love affair or even a new financial undertaking.

However, these feelings of largess are also going to be tampered by the Mercury square with Jupiter and sextile with Pluto on the on March 29. The impact between the Messenger and Jupiter could lead to a situation where the ego is writing checks that the body, heart and mind, are not able to cash. The impulsive nature of Aries is going to be magnified as the tendency to make judgments without facts could lead to negative results on many levels. The sextile with Pluto, however, will soften this by adding a dollop of patience; something that is truly needed at this time.

Venus and Mars conjunct on April 6-7. With all of the fireworks of the previous two weeks, this aspect will enhance social relations although with both planets being in Aries, this could be taken to extremes. Importantly, it is a time to balance the active and passive energies, yin and yang, that have been stretched so thin in recent days. This rebalancing does come at a timely point given that the Dark Lord, Pluto, goes retrograde on April 12.

I have written previously about the potential impact of a retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. This is aspect will mark a rapid increase in upheavals on a world-wide scale as political, financial and social structures are placed squarely in the cross-hairs of transformation. Aries natives will feel the immediate impact of this dramatic shift when external forces intervene. The need to act is heightened and your personal philosophy will be tested.

To say that the month of Aries is going to be cosmically dynamic would be an understatement. Natives of the Sign of the Ram may look back on Aries 2013 with wonder at everything that made an impact on their lives and world. To have foreknowledge, even at such an impactful time, can provide an astral road to spiritually navigate the path ahead.

The Autumn Equinox marks a true change of seasons. For many, the start of fall on September 21rd is viewed as a time of harvest and, hopefully, a change in the seemingly ongoing drama that marks the daily news on the political, national, financial and world fronts. Whether it is unrest in North Africa, our own economic situation, or the seemingly unending barrage of natural disasters and challenges, the desire to put it all behind us as the season’s change is almost overwhelming.

Yes, this is the time of the harvest, both in the karmic sense, as well as, the traditional meaning. The stars, too, seem to reflect this “harvesting” of what we have sown. Just three days after the Equinox, a powerful stellium promises to bring some dramatic “seasonal shifts” to this planet and its inhabitants.

A stellium is an astrological term to describe a multiple conjunction of at least four planets in one sign or house. Astrologers differ on whether it is the sign or house which should dictate whether a stellium is present, however, it is the sign which controls since a sign can span two houses.

The effect of the Super Moon earlier this year is still be felt in a variety of ways around the globe. With that in mind, one must certainly pay attention to the upcoming lunar event that will occur in just a couple of weeks. Many writers have noted that Super Moons do seem to have an impact on earthquakes given the increased seismic activity that can occur during that period, it would seem that this may be a prelude to a significantly more extreme events, weather included.

Stelliums act like a cosmic battery overcharging the impact of the planets involved, as well as, the signs and the houses. Specifically, the energies involved become obsessive. Here, the lunar impact on emotions magnified by Venus collides and confounds with the Mercury on communications of all types. Much as the Sun can magnify energy and heat when shown through a magnifying glass, so too does the proximity of Old Sol to these other planets add to their intertwined energies.

Of particular concern is that this astrological configuration overlaps the 12th and the 1st houses. The 12th house is concerned with large public institutions (think governmental bodies) and hidden matters or agendas. What we see may not be what we are going to get, especially in the financial realm. This is traditionally the house of self-undoing, making those decisions or taking actions which ultimately will work against the desired outcome. Given the toxic environment on political fronts, both here and abroad, expect some abrupt over-reaction that could lead to more unrest or worse. A financial crisis could come shooting in from the proverbial “left field” that could leave both leaders and the public scrambling.

Libra, of course, is represented by the Scales and symbolizes the karmic balance that is constantly in flux. The stellium’s effect is going to through this “balance’ severely out of whack. We may well get that “Aha!!” moment, but at a high price and, possibly, too late to avoid the consequences. This does not mean that everything ends, rather, that the proverbial “Humpty Dumpty” has gone to omelet land and that we are left with picking up the pieces.

Pluto retrograde has just left Capricorn and this transits denoted a time of transformation and ending those systems (and beliefs) whose time has past. Structures (man-made, institutional, financial and political) that do not support growth have begun to crumble to be replaced by the new forms. This background of astrological activity is a major reason why the Equinox and the stellium could well mark a true change of seasons on many levels and a karmic “harvest” of unique and unexpected proportions.

It should be kept in mind that the Equinox, whether Spring or Fall can bring in more than just a seasonal change.  It is a marker for things to come, both good and not so good.  Either way, it presents challenges that are worth noting.

Twice a year the Sun and Moon seem almost to stand still and the hours of daylight and darkness are equal. The first of these times is the spring Vernal Equinox heralding the time of new beginnings, growth, and a celebration that warmth has returned to the Earth and possibilities are limitless. The second of these times when the hours of day and night are balanced occurs, appropriately, at the beginning of Libra, the sign of the scales. This is the Autumnal or Fall Equinox.

This transition of the seasons is called by many names; Mabon or Harvest Home (Wiccan), Meán Fómhair or Alban Elfed (Welsh), Night of the Hunter (Old English), Festival of Dionysus (Greek), Michaelmas (Christian) and Fallfeast (Old Germanic) are some examples of how various cultures honor the period of time between September 21st and 23rd. The essence of all these celebrations is the recognition that now is time to reap the harvest of the efforts of the previous months, reflect on all that has occurred and to prepare for the coming period of darkness and cold that marks the completion of the Great Wheel’s cycle until the new birth of the coming year comes with the spring.

With all of the dynamic changes that have happened thus far, the Autumnal Equinox of 2012 carries a special astrological importance. Pluto retrograde ends its path four days prior to September 22nd, the actual date of the Fall event. Once again, the transformational forces that have been somewhat happenstance since the retrograde began in April are now pushing forward again.

Pluto squares Uranus on the 19th and Mercury on the 20th. The generational impact of these aspects cannot be overstated. Political upheavals will continue with a dramatic event very likely to occur right on the Equinox or within a day or two after. Mercury the Messenger is also impacted by the Pluto’s square leading to suspicion, mental anxiety and with a decidedly negative slant, could add fuel to already volatile situations.

The Messenger also finds itself in opposition of Uranus on the 20th. This will further confound the problems with communications during this period and right through the 23rd. Lost, misunderstood, or interrupted messages could lead to arguments and conflicts, both on a personal and on a larger societal level. Even the usually calming effect of Chiron, the Wounded Healer, adds to the potential for chaos due to it’s opposition with Mercury also on the 20th with the likelihood of misrepresenting ideas or concepts adding further confusion.

In a real sense, the impact for these aspects may be viewed as a kind of mini-Mercury retrograde period; rather than lasting a fortnight, this will be a much shorter period of five to seven days. Yet, occurring as it does during this time of harvest and reflection, this Equinox could truly give a whole new meaning to the phrase: “Reaping what you sow”. In a real sense, this could well be a fall to remember.

Yet, all this too, is part of the Great Wheel that must pass from warmth to cold, light to dark, through all the stages of life so that the new can spring again, like a phoenix, from the ashes of the old.

Mars, the God of War, is also active during these ‘lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer’. Much like the Messenger, Mars also has the quincunx aspect in play with Neptune and Chiron. Both the Sea King, Neptune, and the Wounded Healer, Chiron, are retrograde which further bring out their negative features. Disillusionment, frustration and anger at things which seem beyond control will all be heightened. Wrongs (real and imagined) are going to fester on the world stage which could lead to random acts of violence that could explode into a much larger political/economic conflict. This is particularly true during the last two weeks of the month.

The Mars, God of War, squares off literally with the Dark Lord, Pluto on July 17th. The visceral drive to eliminate that which is viewed as unacceptable or obsolete by force could lead to a reckless course of military action during that week. A day later, on July 18th, Mars opposes (again literally) the force of Uranus. The urge to through caution to the winds combined with the desire to revolt from real or perceived restrictions enhance the chance that a traditional power or authority is going to collapse without any clear alternative to replace it.

Personal relationships, too, are going to find themselves in the heat of the summer sun during July. Again, the difficult quincunx aspect between Venus and the Dark Lord on July 3rd, marks upheavals in matters of the heart and may leave many people feeling like they have boarded an emotional roller coaster of the e-ticket variety.

Chiron joins the party in a celestial cosmic ‘square dance with the Goddess of Love on July 7th sowing mistrust and doubt which cannot be conquered by and emotionally forcing matters. With all the other astral energies swirling during the month, to say that love is a battlefield could be an understatement.

One of the many features that makes this period so intense is the fact that there are five significant retrogrades occurring at the same time: Neptune, Mercury, Chiron, Pluto and Uranus. All will be moving in reverse and their combined retro-activity opens the door for upheaval and uncertainty. The fabric of what the world believes is ‘truth’ is going to be torn in ways that are both immediate and forceful. While the focus of 2012 was on the Mayan Prophecy of December 21st, far more powerful forces will interplay during the period from July 3rd though the 26th.

In a cosmic sense we all are being put on notice that there are some karmic debts coming due and the Universe will insure that they are paid both on a global and personal level. This could well be part of what the ancients saw as they peered into the night sky to cast the course of fate for those who follow. Perhaps seeking astral advice from those trained in the predictive arts may help find a course to follow even as the paths themselves are being reshaped.

With the 4th of July just around the corner, preparations for the annual showing of aerial patriotism in the form of fireworks displays both public and private. This July, however, there is one pyrotechnics show whose effects will be more dynamic and will last far beyond the last boom in the night sky and the final fading of the colored lights and images launched by the hands of humankind. I am referring, of course, to the astrological “fireworks” that will occur during the entire month of July.

To begin with, the period from July 3rd through July 26th is marked by important aspects almost continuously mostly involving Mercury, Venus and Mars. Of particularly interest are the interactions of the Messenger. First and foremost, the second Mercury Retrograde of the year occurs on July 14th. As I have discussed in other articles, Mercury Retrogrades can, under the best of astrological conditions, cause havoc in human affairs. The impact of The Messenger’s rearward waltz this time is magnified by Uranus also going retrograde the day before on July 13th.

Uranus is the planet of deviation, revolution, rebellion and change from existing norms. This change often comes in unconventional and unexpected ways. The Uranus retrograde lasts for roughly 150 days a year and during that time the instability it brings can be felt on personal and international levels. Its reputation as “The Great Awakener” is well-founded. Uranus influences earthquakes, technology and anarchy. In retrograde, disruptive events on the personal level (break-ups as opposed to make-ups) are likely. In world events, expected the unexpected and the fall of existing power structures either through internal collapse or external force.

Combined with the potency of the Messenger also in retrograde, July could see a major geopolitical crisis that could result in the unprecedented alteration of global power. Disrupted or distorted communications will only add fuel to the revolutionary fire. Add to this, the possibility of a major seismic event during the third week of the month and you have the ingredients for a summer of chaos.

The Messenger also dances with Pluto, the Dark Lord, during July. Still retrograde and in Capricorn, the Dark Lord’s continued mission of transformation through destruction of the old and obsolete (institutions, political structures, economies) will also be fuelled by his planetary associates. Twice during this period on July 3rd and the 26th,, Mercury and Pluto enter into that most curious of aspects, the Quincunx (or Inconjunct as it is also called).

Quincunxes, which are aspects formed when planets are 150 degrees apart (plus or minus 2 degrees) can be summed up with the words: challenging and diverting. This aspect is difficult because the “cause and effect” between one event and a related outcome cannot be identified yet. In a true cosmic sense, they are intrinsically connected.

When Mercury and Pluto are bound in a quincunx, compulsiveness, whether on an individual or societal level, can lead to things getting really out of control. Combined with the retrogrades of both planets which exist during July, we can expect a dynamic and rash set of actions, particularly in the financial and global realms, to really cause chaos during the last two weeks of the month. A dramatic and/or drastic political event could also result in a “house of cards” ending up in a cosmic version of “52 card pickup” as well.

July 4th Promises Cosmic Crispies

As 2012 progresses so many things which have transpired in the first quarter of the year point to the fact that this is a most unique and unusual time perhaps eclipsing even the fears of the ancient Mayans. Whether one looks at politics, the international scene or the weather, it is clear that something out of the ordinary is impacting this frail blue orb that we inhabit and, in turn, all of us as well.

As I examine this period more closely, I find my attention being drawn to the area of finance, both local and global, and believe that something significant is on the horizon. The hints of what may lie just ahead can be seen in heavens and is the focus of this article.

There are several significant astrological events all occurring in a condensed period of time from May 15 through the Summer Solstice. This also includes the recent reversal of direction of Pluto,The Dark Lord-on April 10 in the sign of Capricorn. While each of these events individually would have an impact here on Earth, the combined energies of all of them magnify the potency of these aspects. Specifically, the realm of banking, finance, and money-related items are going to be in the astrological crosshairs of these cosmic encounters.

First and foremost, the Pluto Retrograde which began on April 10 will continue until September 17. As I have written about previously, the Dark Lord brings about transformation and eliminates the old and outworn. In the sign of Capricorn, the structural aspects of our world such as our financial and banking systems will receive the full brunt of the Dark Lord’s focus.

Things hidden will be brought to light, given that Pluto governs big business, crime and the underworld and also the Great Depression, the impact on an already shaky global financial system particularly in the early summer could be both potent and path changing across Europe and even here.

As Pluto’s 160 day rearward dance progresses, and some of these hidden truths become revealed, karmic balance is going to make those who have taken advantage of the system the hardest. Regrettably since they are also in control, the trickle-down to the rest of us will also be significant. A kind of financial fatalism could be a tipping point to more than just prime-time drama during the summer.

With the Dark Lord’s ongoing mission of transformation through destruction as the backdrop, several other cosmic elements will contribute further stress on our collective wallets, hearts and minds-among other things. Coming up next on the astrological hit parade is Venus. Please check out my article on Psychic Cosmos.com and elsewhere for a discussion on the Goddess of Love and her impact, both historically on the Mayan culture, and as dynamic force in relationships-personal, professional, international and emotional in the present day.

More than just a pretty face, Venus also governs money and values. Additionally, the Love Goddess also impacts societies and justice. When she, too, goes retrograde on May 15, financial resources will begin to dry up, sources of supply (both of cash and necessities) seem to be diminishing and a general feeling of “everyone for themselves” could lead to both domestic and international unrest.

I have written about what I foresee as a very intense period coming up in the next 60-90 days. Some of these articles will be available on PsychicCosmos.com and elsewhere in the near future.

Fortunately, this backwards waltz only lasts until June 27, however, when combined with the Plutonian backdrop and other forces which are discussed next in this article, the roughly 42 days of retrograde may well seem (and possibly be) an eternity for the world markets.

The summer months are usually a time of relaxation, renewal and recreation. But in this year of 2012 there is a fourth element that must be considered; reckoning. The heavens are going to be a hotbed of astrological activity that is going to have profound impacts here on Earth and its denizens from a period beginning June 3 and running through July 26. From July 3 through July 26, the planetary dance reaches a frenzied pace. Astrologers and psychics will be focusing their skills in order to help forecast the events which may occur during this cosmic chaos.

There are several highlights that occur and will have great significance during that period. To begin with, the amount of retrograde action increases dramatically. Neptune, The Sea King, goes into reverse on June 4 with Chiron, the Wounded Healer, following suit on June 11. Adding to the mix is Uranus, the Sky Lord, heading rearward on July 13. To top everything off, the second Mercury retrograde of the year starts a day later on July 14.

Neptune’s reversal portends water related issues. The chance for a potent hurricane during that time is dramatically increased. Since Neptune also controls oil and gas, expect for a problem with shortages during the height of the summer travel season. Dreams and delusions will be squaring off with realty adding tension across the board. Chiron is following a similar course and will bring up old hurts, both politically and personally. These will need to be addressed and ‘healed’ or at least acknowledged.

Uranus moving backward is going to further enhance the spirit of revolution against the old orders world wide. When added to Neptune and Chiron, the chance for social and political upheavals is exacerbated as existing power centers totter against the weight of time and change is amplified. Protests, confrontations and the possibility of armed conflict is likely both internationally and domestically as Uranus’ position in Aries raises the emotional temperature to a boiling point.

If all of this weren’t enough, the Mercury retrograde will add to the confusion, uncertainty and frustration of communications issues, mental lapses and breakdowns, and a failure to maintain order. Main stream sources of news may be less than reliable and, on personal levels, break-ups and break-downs could occur with a greater frequency. Mercury retrogrades are challenging during a quiet period, however, this one could be devastating.

There are other major astrological events during this shortened period. The total eclipse of the Moon on June 4 falls in Sagittarius. Eclipses in fire signs highlight discontent in society, a realization that essential resources are scarce and increased military activity. Even as a search for “the truth” continues, more summer fireworks than usual can be expected. The Summer Solstice itself occurs on June 20. As with any seasonal change, energies will be in flux. There is also a unique event with Venus transiting across the Sun for only the second time since 1882 and will not occur again until 2117.

Between the heat of Old Sol and the passion of Venus, the Goddess of Love, the emphasis is on what classic astrologers call ‘The Divine Feminine’. Expect an important woman (or women) to have a major impact during that time.
As mentioned before, the period from July 3 through the 26 is extremely active, particularly for the Messenger and Mars, God of War. Mercury has seven aspects during that three week period and Mars has six. Communications and aggression will blend with the other planets impacted further ramping up the tensions on all fronts.

While all the emphasis of prediction and prophecy has been placed on December 21, 2012, the real focus should be on the summer months. The energies swirling above will be reflected on us below and may well leave us trying to catch our collective and spiritual breaths well before the Mayan Long Count ends.

Last, but by no means least, we come to the 4th Quarter of the year. This period not only marks the conclusion of 2012, but as has been well documented, the Long Calendar (also known as the Long Count) of the Mayans ends on December 21 which is also the beginning of the Winter Solstice. I will comment more on this at the conclusion of these astrological forecasts. There are several major events which need attention during this time: To begin, Jupiter-King of the Gods goes into reverse on Oct 4th while Saturn-The Ringed One-enters the sign of the Scorpion on Oct 5th.

Daylight savings ends on Nov. 4 followed two days later by the Messenger’s final rearward dance on Nov. 6. On Nov. 13, a major Solar Eclipse coincides with the New Moon, both in Scorpio. Two week later, on Nov. 28, a penumbral Lunar Eclipse joins the Full Moon. This is the type of eclipse where Luna passes through the Earth’s shadow which is called the penumbra. Finally, as stated previously, the Winter Solstice occurs on Dec. 21 marking the last significant astrological event of the year.

The reverse motion of the King of Gods will add frustration to long distance travel and long term plans. Unexpected delays, quite possibly in the form of freak storms in unlikely places, will snarl travel during the remainder of the year adding the already bleak mood most of us are feeling. With this as a backdrop, close attention has to be paid to the Messenger’s final voyage backward on Nov 6.

It is not coincidence that this Mercury retrograde will occur on Election Day. Already confused, conflicted and confounded in its own right, the exercise of the “patriotic duty” is going to be strongly impacted by the Messenger. Communication of ideas, important information, and policy are going to be muddled and quite possibly “lost”. The possibility of wide-scale “irregularities” is quite high and the idea that the selection of a President and Congress could be delayed or subject to challenges and recounts is very real.

While the country (and the world as a whole) is mired in this communication nightmare, the Ringed One enters Scorpio and adds an entirely different set of energies to the mix. Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn will enter what is known as a “mutual reception”. Simply put, the energies of the one will work to support the energies of the other and vice versa. Given the fragility of the financial markets, expect another implosion quite possibly giving Black Friday a meaning closer to the one of Great Depression fame than for door-buster shopping specials.

The power of the two eclipses so close together, will also heighten tension and dynamic energy. The Solar Eclipse in Scorpio coupled with the New Moon is of particular concern. A seismic shift (both metaphorically and literally) could result in a major catastrophe during the week of Nov. 13th that the world is not prepared to deal with. Quite possibly this event could occur in the continental U.S. although at this juncture the location remains unclear. Follow up articles will address this in greater detail.

December 21, 2012, in addition to being the date of the Winter Solstice has received much attention because of the end of the Long Calendar of the Mayans. Much speculation as to the meaning of this event has already been done and, as such, I will not belabor the point here except to say that with each ending there is a new beginning. One particular and striking event does occur in the heavens on that day, however. It is called the ‘Yod’ or as it is sometimes known: the Finger of God.

Astrologically speaking, the Yod is a unique and rare event when one planet quincunxes, that is 150°, two other planets that are separated by only a sextile of 60°. What makes this event so potent and important, are the planets involved. Jupiter is the planet in quincunx to both Pluto and Saturn. We have already seen the mutual reception between the Ringed One and Dark Lord. This will have a profound effect on the world economy and with it power struggles between nations and the “haves” and “have nots” of those nations.

The Yod can produce either powerful energy or a deep blocking action focused on the planet at the apex: in the case, the King of the Gods, Jupiter. Given the retrograde motion, we can anticipate that positive activity will be limited and expansion, whether on the personal, financial, emotional, political or world-wide level, will be brought to a standstill.

Whether this is what the Mayans saw as the end of their calendar cannot be known. What can be said, however, is that this time is what we make of it and how we respond will mark our course in the days and weeks to follow.

This has been one tough Mercury Retrograde for individuals, as well as, around the globe. In the USA, we have been the victim of Hurricane Irene, the credit downgrade by the S&P, and Greece on the brink of default.

Now that it is officially over as of August 26, 2011, we should see things start to chug forward again. Some people find themselves starting over and in many ways this was a visit to the past to help clear out the debris.  Others will have residue from Hurricane Irene and other water issues that need to be dealt with now to prevent further damage in the near future as we experienced three planets in Retrograde at the same time:  Mercury, Pluto and Neptune.

Many relationships that were ‘defaulting’ ended during this period. If they didn’t end the relationship this time around, Mercury will go into another Retrograde phase on November 23rd – December 13th, 2011 in the sign of Sagittarius. The issues you were facing this time will again be in the forefront during the next retrograde.

This next Mercury Retrograde will affect any type of travel you may be thinking of during the Holiday Season starting around Thanksgiving. Make sure all of your travel plans are in motion by that time. You could expect delays and other snafus around that time. It should smooth out during the Christmas Season for travel.

Neptune and Pluto are still in Retrograde which can conjure up all kinds of water issues as was just experienced with Hurricane Irene. The damage from the flooding and excessive rain caused more damage than the Hurricane itself. Now is the time to make sure your home’s water systems are in proper working order. Flooding causes more damage than all other natural disasters and I expect this will be another whopping hurricane season.

Things involving liquid gas, oil, and water will continue to be affected by Pluto and Neptune. They will also affect the stock market in oil, heating oil, and natural gas as prices may continue their rise.  Watch for lots more flooding and water related damage as the year moves on.  It will not surprise me that there will be many more flooding issues that will affect a large number of the population.  Make sure you have the right type of insurance whether you rent or own because you might need it.

The last half of December will be a much better time to make travel plans. Buy your heating oil as soon as is financially feasible to lock in lower prices now as they will start to rise dramatically as the year moves forward.  This is going to be a high-priced season for all of us until these retrogrades pass.

I get the sense that August is not going to be just the “dog days” of summer but, rather, the baying of the hounds of Karma. Pluto which began its retro dance on April 9th, was joined by the Sea King, Neptune, on June 3rd and Uranus on July 10th. If all of these retrograde energies weren’t enough, there is the impending Mercury retrograde of August 2nd, with Jupiter following suit on August 30th.

These planets have a generational and world impact both in the near and short term. Pluto bespeaks of transition through upheaval. Neptune’s backward path can cloud the reality of things even as we are being warned that wishing never makes it so. Uranus, the ethereal one, brings the uncertainty of life and unexpected events crashing home. Mighty Jupiter, traditional ruler of the Gods, crumbles the best laid plans and forces us to look within to learn what truly is important.

Overshadowing all of this is the impact on communications, understanding and messages, both internal and external, from the second Mercury retrograde of the year. Always chaotic, combined with these larger forces, the Messenger’s path will add undue complications on many fronts.

What is on the political horizon? The unrest and uncertainty of the last few months is going to dramatically escalate. There may well be a dramatic fall from power that will stun the world. Outmoded governments will continue to topple and many around the globe will come to realize that much of what they believed was a mere illusion. The financial world is still shaky and even if a debt ceiling agreement is reached, the ramifications of the debate will echo loudly both here and abroad.

Trust in our traditional institutions, such as the media (yes, even social media), government, banks, and other symbols of power and order is going to be under a great deal of stress. Another major scandal could rear its head at the start of the Mercury retrograde. Ultimately, we may have to learn to trust ourselves first, even if it seems we are flying in the face of convention.

Weather and Planet? The almost constant earthquake events we have been seeing could peak to a much larger occurrence during the second week of August. Japan could be a target again although there is a strong possibility of this event happening in the Western Hemisphere. Labor Day may bring the Sea King’s wrath in the form of a hurricane that shows up almost unannounced with drastic results.

Even as the karma of the past is put paid in the present, we may well find that, like the Phoenix of legend, we can rise from the chaos and move forward to build a new, stronger path. It can only be hoped…..
