It really is not hard to learn to read the Tarot. You just must realize this is not an overnight process. A little study everyday will help tremendously. It’s kind of like learning how to tie your shoes or learning how to drive.
The more you practice, the better you will get at it. I suggest getting a standard deck like the Rider-Waite Tarot deck to begin with. As you get more proficient, then you can wander out into the hundreds of Tarot decks and find one you like. Until then, it is best to make it simple and start with an easy to read deck.
There is more than one book out on the subject. The ‘Idiot’s Guide To Tarot’ is one of the better ones. You can find it used at Amazon for about $5.00. I do recommend buying a new Tarot deck. You don’t want one that is old and hard to shuffle. You also want a new deck because a used one has other people’s energy in them and will not work for you like a new one will.
I suggest taking 20 minutes per day starting with a basic layout like the Celtic Cross – the most common and widely practiced spread. To memorize the meaning of each position in the spread, you might start with a piece of paper in each position and the meaning written down on the paper. With practice, you will soon haven the 10 positions memorized.
Use your guide book like the one I recommended above each day. We can only absorb so much information at once, so I suggest 20-30 minutes each day until the spread and cards start to ‘gel’ in your memory. This is a step-by-step process and a little bit of practice each day will take you a long way into learning how to read the cards! You will also begin to notice that your psychic reading ability will approve over time.
