Following up on my recent blog article concerning all the upcoming astrological events, I am going to focus more closely on the impact of the outer planets, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, on this special blue planet we inhabit. With Summer Solstice a scant two weeks away, astrologers and psychic counselors are looking to see what Old Sol and the planetary brethren have in store for us.

With all that has occurred in the last few weeks, it is almost hard to conceive that more dramatic events may be just over the horizon – literally and figuratively. The full impact of the recent Super Moon event is still echoing around the world and may have longer lasting effects as spring turns to summer. The Total Lunar Eclipse on June 15th could definitely bring a reminder of Luna’s impact on earthbound emotions and energies; personal as well as geological. There is the definite possibility that some shocking revelations about either a leader or a world situation that could cause us all to rethink what we previously thought was “the truth”.

The Summer Solstice officially begins on June 21 at 1:16 P.M. EDT. The period just prior and in the fortnight following, contain some significant astrological events that may well create challenging events for us all. In addition to the Lunar Eclipse, the four “new” planets all have major roles to play. The interplay of Mercury, Saturn and Pluto is going to be reflected in rising tensions between rivals on the world stage. Resistance to inevitable change and expressions of arrogance could cause world markets to take a significant hit.

The effect of the backward dance of the Sea King, Neptune, which began on June 2nd, should not be minimized. Issues involving our oceans and their weather and, oil prices, will all be highlighted. Much like the last time Neptune went retrograde, dreams and illusions may well distort the harsh reality of events, particularly in the political arena will make it difficult to discern fact from fantasy. Weather, too, is going to be a major player, particularly in late June and early July.

Uranus, planet of the unexpected, is going to get a jolt from the Sun. With the Sky God preparing to also go retrograde on July 9th, we can look forward to a lot of unexpected events. There could be a major change in government that no one saw coming. Human rights issues could get a fresh focus, both home and abroad, and possibly alter the discussion of where exactly where we are headed.

And then there is the Dark Lord, Pluto, still in Capricorn, still going backward, still having a major impact on global events. There is a strong likelihood of a major scandal that will make the recent travails of Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Rep. Weiner look like casual dalliances. The structures and institutions that have held back innovation and growth will be severely shaken. Desperation among those in power will make for some unexpected fireworks right around the July 4th holiday.

While all of this sounds like a season of doom and gloom, it must be remembered that we cannot live amidst obstructions and that these changes, while dramatic and intense, are necessary if we are, indeed, to continue to grow and thrive.
