This Super Moon will occur on March 19 when it is in its closest position to the earth this year. This one happens to be a full Moon, so it is time to prepare now. Full Moons in general can cause havoc, and this one for sure will not go unnoticed by anyone.
Get ready for what could be moderate to severe weather patterns, increased seismic activity, tsunamis and more volcanic eruptions than normal. This phenomenon includes the days leading up to March 19 and the days after until around March 22nd. Japan is a very likely candidate for a whopper! As a result, it will be in the news around the world.
We experienced extreme weather conditions under the last Super Moons in 1955, 1974, 1992 and 2005. Hurricane Katrina is one example which happened in 2005 under a Super Moon’s influence. The moon has such a strong gravitational pull on the earth it can control the tides and under certain conditions causes extra strong tidal patters as in the Indonesian tsunami.
The well known astrologer, Richard Nolle coined the phrase, Super Moon and he is predicting just such occurrences this March in particular and could continue well into April of this year. The Moon exerts gravitational pull on the earth and the closer it is, the more influence it has. Super Moon’s have a particularly strong pull on the earth because they are much closer to the earth during these phases.
This March may prove to be one of the worst months for severe weather and seismic activity yet this year. This may be because the Moon has not been this close to the earth in 18 years. The coastal regions should prepare for especially strong and high tides and possible earthquakes.
This will be the second of three Super Moons this year. One occurred in February, again in March and April. These three months should mark a noticeable change in earth activity, along with gas leaks or explosions and earthquakes. Get your camera out because this particular Super Moon will appear extremely large at it rises after the sun sets, because it will be the closest one of the year.
Just after the Super Moon, get ready for more financial concerns world-wide, especially the European bond market, an increase in oil and gas disruptions and the price of everything going up and into panic mode. Many power outages are likely to occur, especially if earthquakes hit densely populated areas. Stock markets may also be in for a wild ride.

Interesting and Geologist Jim Berkland predicts an earthquake somewhere between the 19th and 26th of March 2011 in California.

Just FYI…the moon reaches perigee in its orbit (closest point in its orbit to the earth) every month. A “full” moon is just one that’s fully illuminated by the sun from our point of view, but otherwise it’s no different in mass or gravity than a “new” moon. There’s nothing special about tonight as far as gravity goes, so predictions of earthquakes and such are rather silly, and show an ignorance of the moon’s orbit. Just relax.

Ok.. I don’t get the 18yrs and then the comment we will experience 3 super moons … I thought super moons only happened every 18yrs? Unless what your saying is that every 18yrs we have 3 super moons?

Full moons vary in size because of the oval shape of its orbit, with one end closer to Earth, the moon will be 356,574km away – the closest to Earth since March 1993. This celestial phenomenon should give people an excuse to take time out for the moon.
This type of full moon tends to bring a range of high and low tides, but experts say that’s nothing to worry about. Nor is there any truth to the superstition that supermoons cause natural disasters.

Well it happened in Japan and earthquakes are still being felt there, plus the nuclear power plant!! It seem pretty spot on, the moon does control the tides!!

I have not seen this actually but I have heard it and also see the news that Japan experienced a 6.+ earthquake again. Idk what is happening to the world but I am always praying for all of your safety guys. Have faith and trust in GOD.
I think that this is true that the supermoon can cause catastrophe because a week before this day Japan was hit hard with a Earthquake then a Tsunami and then that night March 19 the U.S.A went to war with Libya its not a natural disaster but its really something to think about
Okay kids.. It’s a fact that the tsunami was triggered ONLY by the earthquake which was caused by two plates slipping across each other. They were NOT two separate events. Know your stuff. No one will know if the plates slipped because of the moon or too much pressure. Everyone will decide to believe what sounds best to them, but the tsunami was triggered by the earthquake, not the moon.
the tidal forces of a closer moon may have some impact on the geological and meteorological processes on earth … but you should leave that up to science … it’s the astrology loonies like you that are always getting people confused.

The timing of the post is very interesting as it was very close to the time of the 9.0 earthquake off the coast of Japan. I’m very curious what this poster had to say the next morning when they learned of the quake.
