2012 will bring change either to us or all around us. For certain, the world chaos is heating up and you don’t want to be caught un-prepared. Planning now for any natural or man-made chaos will prevent your own life from turning upside down in the future.
The world is right now under-going a massive transformation along with most everyone in it. We can all feel it at a gut level. Some of you have already had change ‘happen’ to you whether you liked it or not and this will continue with increasing speed.
Now is not the time to sit a wait to see what will happen. Now is the time to make a plan and also have a backup plan. Having a backup plan in addition to an original plan, will give you confidence if you cannot execute plan A. Your safety might well be plan B.
For example, if you think you may lose your job, then start saving now for that ‘rainy day’ because it is coming. If you think there will be food shortages, then every time you go to the grocery store, buy something that will keep for a year or more.
In other words, stock up on things rather than wait. Because change is coming and increasing at a rapid rate, then do your homework. If a natural disaster or man-made disaster struck, where would you go?
Tips 2012 preparedness:
1. Have plenty of water stored
2. Store dry goods in case of food shortages
3. Store extra gasoline in case you need to leave in a hurry
4. Store money away from banks; what if they shut down?
5. Have an escape route and send it to all of your relatives so they know where to expect you will be in case of emergency
These things should always be on hand whether you are expecting disaster or not. This will give you a piece of mind knowing that you can survive in the event of any social or natural disturbance.
This should relieve anxiety and give you and your loved ones piece of mind in uncertain times such as these. Then you can go on living your everyday lives knowing that you are safe should something happen.
2012 will increase the anxiety levels of nations and individuals around the world. Remember, this is change we cannot stop. It is here to stay for a while and being prepared will keep you much calmer in times of stress and external chaos wherever you may live.
For most people, this will feel like an upbeat time. Somewhat because of the holidays and also because of the energy surrounding this week. Take time to relax this week before heading back to ‘normal’ the first week in January. Transformation has begun and it is time to make some decisions about and preparation for this coming year.
Many of you have needed this ‘break’ to re-group and re-think some things very important to you. Change is coming and with it transformation which cannot be stopped. Maybe your New Year’s resolutions should include some life-changing and much needed stop-gap measures to avoid pitfalls this coming year.
In the past, we have been able to assume that life will continue as we know it and more and better times are ahead. While some still ’see’ that way, they may have their heads buried too deep in the sand. This would be an excellent time to really look at how you have been spending. It will be a great time to stop buying impulsively and to get back to basics.
This could actually turn into a fun process. For example, while out shopping, it is fun to look, however, this is also a time to change your attitude about what is really needed. Many will find it an appropriate time to not only cut back but to re-establish your relationship to money. Are you spending frivolously? Do you really need that lipstick or do you have enough?
Times have changed and if you have not done so, I encourage you to re-think your day-to-day spending. While you might enjoy buying that cup of coffee or latte, now is the time to become conscious of how you really spend. Now is the time to start thinking about how to cut back because there may be a tendency to spend to relieve anxiety about an uncertain future. It just might be the little things that you realize are adding up.
Making changes now, will prevent having to make them in the next couple of months. If you choose to put off the changes you know you need to make, outside forces will make it happen whether you like it or not. It is better to plan right now as it will make a difference later on. A plan executed now will save you some headaches ahead in the coming months.
Water and rainy issues are coming in the next couple of months. Prepare now and check the water sources in your house to prevent leaks, drainage issues and property water damage. Save up for that rainy day because they are coming.

At the stroke of midnight on December 31st, we will find ourselves entering what promises to be a penultimate new year. Between the upheavals around the globe as old orders and governments seem to be changing almost daily, the uncertainty of the entire, seemingly too-fragile world economic picture, our own politics of gridlock and positioning, and the specter of the Mayan prophecies, 2012 has captured the attention and focus of psychics, astrologers and esoteric practitioners (such as those found on Psychic Cosmos.com) world-wide.
Keeping all this in mind, I believe it is fitting that we actually look to the heavens at midnight, January 1st 2012 to examine the portents which are there. Since the eyes of the world are focused on Washington D.C., watching what tone may be set that could impact the globe at large, I have cast what is known as a combined chart for that place and time.
A combined or Davison chart takes two charts, blends them, and finds the midpoint between the two to understand the relationship as a whole. Since New Year’s is a time for both reflection and anticipation, I have used the birth chart for Washington D.C. and the chart for the Capitol on January 1, 2012 at 12:00 a.m. In truth, we need to understand the impact of where we came from to help forecast where we are going.
Two significant points jump right out when the chart is cast: Venus, Goddess of Love, has an aspect to every planet, the Ascendant, and the Midheaven. Only the Sun, Old Sol, and the North Node of the Moon are free from her influence. Secondly, Uranus, the Sky God, also touches almost all of his planetary companions; the exceptions being Saturn, Neptune and the North Node.
The prominence of these two celestial voyagers cannot be overstated. The Uranus, The Sky god, is the planet of revolution and has moved to the sign of Aries The Ram which is ruled by Mars, The God of War. The worldwide turmoil we have witnessed during the past year will continue and even as noisemakers herald the change of the year, the battle for liberation of restraints will heighten. The trine (120 degrees) between Old Sol and the Sky God reinforces the courage to plunge ahead into the unknown; The Moon, Luna, opposes Uranus and brings the innermost feelings and desires bubbling to the forefront, both personally and on a global scale.
The squares between the Uranus and Venus and Uranus and Pluto, are both points to heed. With the former, defying convention (both in personal relationships and global ones) will challenge everyone to accept their role in what is going on and more importantly how to direct it positively. Additionally, unexpected events could take everyone off guard. The latter aspect is a generational and international one as it emphasizes new governments, new leaders. New policies will emerge but not without the destruction and removal of the old; perhaps not in a orderly fashion.
The Venus has her power as well. In addition to the square with the Uranus, Venus also squares the Moon, Pluto and the Midheaven. With the Moon, this aspect highlights the bickering and irresponsibility between two factions on financial matters. One only has to look on the internet or any electronic or print media to see this being played out to an uncertain (and probably not very beneficial) conclusion.
With the Pluto, Dark Lord, it’s all about power games, an overload of passion and hidden agendas. The stroke of midnight could also deal heartbreak due to manipulation and underhanded maneuvers by those we have trusted, particularly with our financial lives. The Midheaven square reminds us that some of what we value may actually be at odds with what is needed at this time, particularly in personal matters.
Two other aspects bear attention: Mars Square Uranus gives too much physical energy and the thirst for action. This could denote some ill-advised foreign adventure, particularly if involves an out-of control-response. Restraint will be needed and, hopefully, cooler heads can prevail.
It is the second of these two aspects; Neptune, The Sea King, in opposition to Jupiter, the King of the Gods, which we should pay particular attention to. This relationship points out that there is a tendency to promise more than can be done and lack of practicality that could damage both business and finances. It would seem that those in the various capitals around the world would do well to heed the warning that the planets provide.
Combing the charts of Washington D.C.’s birth chart with the birth chart of the coming New Year provides a glimpse of the energies in play that begin at the midnight hour and may have impacts throughout the twelve months to follow. Yet, just as the celestial dance of planets and stars is ever in motion, so too, does the wheel of destiny continue to revolve spinning the future out before us all.

The Second Quarter is going to ramp up the intensity. The week before the Vernal Equinox arrives is marked by the previously mentioned Mercury Retrograde which began on March 12th. Ironically Daylight savings began the previous day (March 11th). So it appears that the intersection of the change of seasons, change of time, and communications chaos could lead to some dramatic international events. Radical politics (and politicians) are going to confound everyone and the chance of an “oopsie” resulting in a firefight (actual or metaphorical) continues until Mercury moves forward again on April 4th.
The Pluto, The Dark Lord reverses course on April 10th still in the sign of the Capricorn. The intensity of this position, coupled with the force of the retrograde is going to make the spring very interesting, to say the least. Pluto Retrograde highlights weakness while Capricorn deals with power and hierarchies. Expect more revelations about how hollow the current system is that could cause a major crisis involving a government official sometime between April 10th and the 19th. This scandal/issue could lead to a conflict either of arms or of money; either one will leave us shaken and looking for answers.
The Goddess of Love, Venus, is particularly impacted during this quarter. She squares Neptune, Mars, Chiron, and then goes retrograde on May 15th. Relationships are going to be particularly stressed and emotional conflict (heightened by the transformative and destructive powers of Pluto) could lead to collapse of personal relationships, even as the governmental ones also fall.
The Total Lunar Eclipse of June 4th will occur in Sagittarius. The Archer’s influence will add to the frustration and discontent. The possible fall of a prominent person, either through scandal or some physical calamity, will add to the chaos of the landscape. Italy, North Africa, and yes, us too, are likely spots. The chance for unpredictable weather could also make the run-up to summer a challenge.
Adding to the 2nd Quarter chaos is Neptune moving again in reverse. Starting its retrograde path on the exact day of the Lunar Eclipse, one can expect trouble on, in and around the oceans. A hurricane or major oil/gas leak is not out of the question. Also, there is a chance that what we are seeing may not be what we are going to get in terms of “solutions” for the myriad of financial issues that continue to cascade.
The third Quarter of 2012 will make the first part of the year seem like a picnic. The highlight is an astrological double whammy which starts near the end of the 2nd Quarter. Uranus and the Mercury both go retrograde a day apart – July 13th and 14th respectively. This Mercury Retrograde is going to be especially troublesome. Not only will communications suffer (as usual), but “ghosts” from past infamous behavior for those in power as well as the rest of us, are going to rise from the collective grave of memory to totally distort our reality.
Expect scandals, revelations and “gotcha” moments turning the already circus atmosphere of the upcoming elections in a spectacle that Ringling Brothers would be proud of. Uranus’ penchant for the unpredictable will be on full display and the month of August may well find us lurching from one disaster to another. The environment, too, is going to take a hit and Labor Day may end up marking more than just the end of Summer.
As the 3rd Quarter ends, Mercury the Messenger and the Scorpio will both go direct, which is a good thing as they square each other two days before the Fall Equinox. While the continued impact of Pluto in Capricorn will be unabated, we will have a little time to restore some lines of emotional and psychical communication to take stock of the transformations which have tossed us like a small boat on a stormy sea.

Holidays can be stressful, especially if things do not measure up to one’s expectations. This is a season for acts of radical kindness and generosity, even to people you do not know. The Solstice arrives Friday, bringing a change of season. You can make practical resolutions for the future under Saturday’s powerful New Moon.
Aries This is a busy time that can see you more than usually distracted by a romantic attraction. In all things, do your best to see the big picture and make decisions with what it will mean for your long term future in mind. Refuse to give in to disappointment, especially those born after April 15.

Once again the pages of the calendar dwindle down to a precious few and, as the seasons turn, so, too will the last gasps of 2011 give way to the beginning of 2012. Much has been made of this coming year and what it may bring to this frail blue orb which we humans call home. Does the conclusion of the Mayan Long Count calendar mark an earth-changing event? Will the unrest that is sweeping the globe spread and cause havoc both here and abroad? Can financial and political turmoil find some kind of resolution? And how does all the planetary drama impact the personal lives of we who dwell upon it?
This is why those of us who have chosen (or been chosen by) the esoteric path take this time to examine the portents and utilize our skills to provide counsel and guidance to all who seek it. Many of us can be found on such sites as Psychic Cosmos.com and will do what we can to pierce the veil of the unknown and illuminate the path ahead.
To begin with, 2012’s events are set against a dynamic astrological backdrop. Pluto still resides in Capricorn and the upheavals and collapse of existing and long standing governments will continue. The Dark Lord’s path of transformation through destruction will be enhanced by Uranus’ movement in the Sign of Aries the Ram. This had previously occurred in 1928 and continued for six years. The social and economic convulsions that rocked the world during that time provide us with a model of what can and may well develop during this latest journey.
The Sea King returns to home port in the Sign of Pisces on February 3rd. The impact on the oceans and the weather will be enhanced; strong, unexpected storms during the year, a more active hurricane season and other meteorological anomalies will make many wonder if the Mayan were right and the Long Count is bringing the conclusion. Dreams and nightmares will compete for attention and many of what we had come to believe as “truths” will be shown to be myths and illusions.
It is with this backdrop in mind that I now look at the year ahead. As the new year dawns, The Messenger and The Warlord square off, literally, on New Year’s Eve. The polarization of our society will continue unabated and the chance of jumping to a hasty, ill advised course of action/decision could have immediate repercussions world wide.
The Mercury The Messenger is busy during the first quarter of the year but does not go retrograde again until March 12th. Activity will begin to pick up on all fronts at the beginning of February. As I mentioned above, the Neptune, The Sea King returns home on February 3rd. A scant four days later Saturn begins a five month march in reverse. Saturn, The Ringed One has long been known to astrologers as the Great Limiter or Leveler, setting out boundaries, rules and limitations with which we must learn to work in order to progress.
This will be the theme for most of the first quarter of the year. Plans great and small are going to hit obstruction upon obstruction. Unfinished business will need to be completed first; the financial crisis (which has continued nonstop) is going to continue to frustrate both current and would-be leaders. Sadly, there will be continued revelations about how corrupt things have gotten and this could lead to increased weirdness on many levels. All this craziness will really be given a jumpstart by the first Mercury Retrograde on March 12, 2012, followed eight days later by the Vernal Equinox.
