This Wednesday, Mercury goes Retrograde. “Retrograde” is the apparent motion of the planet, relative to us sitting here on earth. Retrograde periods can be misunderstood as something “bad”. Not so! Rather, it gives you a chance to review, reconsider, redo, revise, and reorient yourself. There is nothing wrong with a carefully considered do-over.
What is happening in the stars for the week of March 27th?
Aries Be willing to explore what comes your way. If your birthday is near Wednesday, you are in the thick of transformative times. For all Arians, the cowboy wisdom to “ride in the direction the horse is going” is powerful advice. Carefully consider the cost and potential benefits of any battle you intend to fight.

However, be careful if you purchase a pendulum because like most pendulum users, over time, you might find yourself owning more than one. I have several. Some are metal and others are gemstones. My favorite is a Citrine pendulum. You don’t have to clear (read clean) it constantly. Citrine is a unique gemstone in that it “kills” negative energy and never has to be cleaned.
How do you ask questions of your pendulum?
Make sure the questions can only be answered with a “yes” or “no” swing from your pendulum. When you gain (through daily practice of around 15 minutes) efficiency with your pendulum, you can call yourself a Pallomancer. For instance, I am known as a Radiation Physicist because I experiment and study the energy of the pendulum in concert with the intuitive energies. Yes, I did study physics. Just because I studied via M.I.T., doesn’t make me a genius.
If you really get into using your pendulum you can find all types of tutorials on the internet. Key in something like, “free pendulum tutorials.” Oh, never, ever, use the pendulum when you aren’t feeling good. Never, ever, use the pendulum as a toy or to impress your friends. The pendulum is a most serious instrument and the answers you receive will not be truthful.
To meditate with your pendulum just hold the thread (by raising or shortening the length, you will find the best length for your pendulum to work correctly), and watch your pendulum do its thing. Simple, no?
In closing, know that the more you use your pendulum (for everything from food to anything you can think of) the stronger your psychic abilities will grow. Good dowsing.

The Sun returns to zero Aries and we begin a new cycle of the astrological year. The cosmic pressures right now are rebellious and unsettled. It would not surprise me if the earthquake epidemic does not slow down. Expect another earthquake within a month in Japan. It will occur within just a few days of the full moon on April 18th. This one may not equal the 9.0 earthquake but it will not be just the usual small jolt.
Japan is not the only country that will be hit with sizable earthquakes – I expect the America’s will get it again soon – N.W. Canada comes to mind and also Mexico within a very short time – probably within the next month or so. India and Alaska are on the horizon for quakes in the fall of 2011.

With the Vernal Equinox just a few days away, the Great Wheel also turns and brings us to the start of the astrological year – the sign of Aries. With the tumultuous events of the last few weeks, I am certain that many of you view this beginning with concern and not a little trepidation. As I have noted before, this is a time for dramatic change which will leave an indelible mark on our world. What we do and how we respond to the challenges will go a long way to determining our future.
On March 30th, we will encounter our first Mercury Retrograde of the year. I believe that the impact of this particular retrograde will be enhanced by the fact that two days later, Mars enters its home sign of Aries, meaning more dynamic conflicts both in terms of international issues (think Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Bahrain, etc.) and at home; partisan politics will ramp up even more with all sides trumpeting their particular agenda as the “right course”.
On April 9th, Pluto joins the Mercury the Messenger in retrograde. The Dark Lord’s power of transformation through the fall of the old and outmoded will be heightened by the failure of clear communications. Some of the most radical of these events could be brought about by unintended gaffs or missed messages.
Two days later, on March 11, the Ram’s ruling planet, Mars, joins the party and becomes squared to Pluto. Lending its aggressive energies to the chaos that Pluto has brought will heighten tensions and explode some beliefs that many had accepted as truth. Scandal and intrigue could be crucial. Additionally, we may not have heard the last from the Earth itself: effects from Japan could rear up elsewhere.
While all of this seems both hopeless and dire, it must be remembered that it is the human spirit and ingenuity that can triumph over seeming darkness. Forecasts, like this one, can go a long way to providing guidance on what may be coming and how best to prepare for it.

With word of the 9.0 earthquake off the coast of Japan March 11, and the tsunamis that have already hit Japan’s northern coast, astrologers and other psychics who have been maligned recently as “unscientific” or just to be modern day Cassandras, find themselves in the odd position of both being proved correct and yet saddened that the events that their castings and readings foretold have come to pass.
There is no pleasure taken in having been correct about this disaster. Yet, clearly, those who look at the stars, feel the vibrations in the earth, and channel other alternative sources of information have tapped into the primal source and wish only to share this knowledge as a way of trying to warn/prepare those who inquire of them in the hopes that some of the more dire effects of these events can be mitigated.
When one looks at three key planets, Mercury, Uranus and Pluto, it is abundantly clear that this may well be just the first wave of an impending crescendo. Just a few days ago, Mercury conjoined Uranus and entered the sign of the God of War, Aries. The Mercury the Messenger clearly is showing us that the unexpected upheavals we are witnessing will only increase as the Aries influence strengthens. This may well mean that Gaia (Earth) may well demonstrate her displeasure in the old order and is determined to make that message clear to all.
Signifcantly, Uranus also entered Aries today. As is well known, Uranus is the planet of upheaval and catastrophe as well as genius. Combine those elements with the potent force of Aries and what we have seen March 11th may only be a precursor to things in the next few weeks.
Pluto, as I have noted before, continues to be the key to all this. March 13th, Pluto and Mercury enter a conjunction with a Super Moon close at hand. Even though the message may seem clear: That things are going to change and that the transformation may be both dramatic and dire, there may well be a second, deeper and more important message hidden in all the chaos. We all need to look and listen closely, not just to events like the earthquake, but other things that may be obscured in our 24 news cycle but which have even more tumultuous effects.
And, if all of this were not enough, Daylight Savings time also occurs on the 13th. So we are going to “spring ahead” or are we? The messages and portents are there; it is but for us to pause and understand their meaning.

Millions of dead fish called anchovies were found in the King Harbor Marina located in Redondo Beach, Calif. This is the most animals that have died yet in one day, according to The Daily Breeze. Even the birds who normally feed on fish, won’t eat them. There is obviously something very wrong here, even to the fish-eating birds. There is an investigation going on, however, no known cause has been determined by marine wildlife officials.
In recent months, there has been no determination on any of the huge animal disasters that have been happening from birds falling out of the sky to dead fish and other marine life around the world. This is a fairly new phenomenon which has no concrete scientific explanation.
One police department official in Redondo Beach suggests that the oxygen supply in the water was depleted by too many fish in one area? By this time, most of us are skeptical when it comes to ‘official reports’ coming from any government employee, especially when they are not a marine biologist.
Around the world there have been huge animal catastrophes and there seems to be no interest in our government officials to let the public know what is really going on. If they don’t know, just say it. If they do, I feel they owe us an explanation, as they seem to forget that they are public servants and we are paying for their salaries with our hard earned money.
Does anyone think that it may have to do with the 7.3 earth quake off the northeastern coast of Japan today? I certainly do and add that to what Lou said today about the Pluto effect on Capricorn that is happening right now.
I feel that Lou is on the money when he states, “Pluto in Capricorn marks upheavals in both our institutions and the Earth’s surface. That Plutonian effect may be in play here. Although, given the manmade earthquakes in Arkansas, it is possible that someone or something, (government or corporation) is trying a technology that seems to be at odds with life on the planet. This may be something a lot more radical than HAARP.”
Or, as Lou suggests today in an email to me, “The thought occurs to me, what if this is stirring up all this seismic activity is taking out the sea life as well. Methane poisoning? That would explain why the birds were staying away from the anchovies, or maybe they just prefer pepperoni (sorry, just trying to add a little levity in a really eerie situation).”
Maybe this is the precursor to 2012, the Mayan Prophesy and the Book of Revelations and many other prophesies including that of the Native American Indians. Randy, a Cherokee Medicine Man and psychic on this site, says that the the elements are very unhappy with us right now.
Randy continues, “Other than the poisons we dump into the ocean; for the time being, I have two theories:
1. This could be a terrorist dry run before attacking our national water supply.
2. Our government is running biological (read kill) tests in preparation for some type of preemptive strike in the Middle East.”
Over all, I get the distinct feeling that we are not being told what is really happening at any government level. Maybe one day the truth will surface, but, until then, lots of animals and possibly people are going to pay a very, very high price.

Most everyone is familiar with the phrase: “Beware the Ides of March”; the warning reportedly uttered by a soothsayer to Julius Caesar about his impending assassination. The line was brought to the public eye in Shakespere’s play about the famous Roman emperor which was undoubtedly borrowed from Plutarch’s Life of Julius Caesar which recounted a warning given to Caesar that the Ides was a day that should be paid attention to.
The day, March 15th, was actually an ancient holiday in Rome known as dedicated to Mars. It was on that day in 44 B.C. that Caesar was assassinated by Cassius, Brutus and others. From that time forward, March 15th has been regarded in popular culture as a day to pay attention to signs and portents and a time when momentous change could occur.
In a unique piece of historic irony, our own capital – Washington D.C.- was founded on the same day that Rome threw off the reign of Caesar. The city’s “birthdate” is generally accepted as March, 15th, 1791. Given all of the upheavals and uncertainty that seems to have marked the beginning of this year, and the strong tide of change that is sweeping much of the world, astrologers, such as those found on Psychic Cosmos, are looking forward to see what such important days as the Ides of March may have in store.
Comparing the natal chart of Washington D.C. with the progressed chart for March 15, 2011, there are several important planetary relationships which command our attention. Significantly, a great number of these occur in the eighth and ninth houses of the synastry of the two charts. Synastry is an astrological term which describes the compatibility/similarity of two charts and is a reliable indicator to help forecast what may transpire going forward as a result of this melding of past and future.
March 15th, 2011 marks a point where several powerful influences may change the course of destiny. The transit of Washington D.C.’s sun is almost in the exact same position as it was on the day Washington was founded. Similarly, the transit of Mars is also in nearly the same position as the natal mars. Even more striking is that both Suns and both Mars’ are in conjunction and in conjunction with each other. To put this into English (as opposed to astrologese) Sun conjunct Sun, Mars conjunct Mars, Natal Sun conjuct both Natal Mars and Transit Mars and Transit Sun conjunct both Natal Mars and Transit Mars.
Importantly, these aspects are occurring within the Eighth House. This is the House of transformation, as well as financial issues, passion, crises and, on a personal level, sex and intimacy. These astrological configurations must be viewed in the context of this most evolutionary of Houses. Is that a storm on the horizon, or the dawn of a new day? In truth, there may not be much difference between the two.
The conjunction, in and of itself, is perhaps the most potent aspect in astrology. When the conjunction involves the Sun, this effect is magnified. Here you have the double impact of the Sun conjunct to its natal self. With Pisces as both the natal and transit sign, both the positive and the negative Piscean traits are brought to the fore. The compassionate, idealistic aspects of the sign have to compete with the tendency to be self-indulgent and escapist being caught up in drama and impractical solutions to real world problems.
Clearly, given the turmoil on the world stage, this battle of self versus self (or maybe self interest) can lead to the entire ship of state being even more rudderless than it currently seems. Expect some “what were they thinking” moments that could have a really strong impact on the country as a whole.
Could a major political scandal be brewing? This could well be the time that the curtain is pulled back on some long kept secrets-and the revelations may not be welcome.
Idealism may well blot out realism and that could lead to a void in direction. This void, however, may well be the beginning of an unseen transformative action the nature of which may not be readily apparent for a few months. If this weren’t enough, the God of War, Mars, brings his dynamic energy to the party and heightens the intensity of the situation.
With Mars in conjunction with itself, the Martian energy is overflowing. The drums of war may well beat even louder than they have been. Much like the early days of this country, the martial spirit seems to be the driving force behind much of our decisions. Even with the calming force brought about by the position in Pisces, the dynamic nature of this aspect is one which cannot be overlooked.
The interplay between Sun and Mars, both within each chart and between natal and progressed charts, acts an amplifier for all of the positive and negative traits and energies inherent in both. In a real sense, this mirrors the kind of turmoil that lead to the founding of the District of Columbia to try and reach a compromise over where the government (and hence the power) should be located.
Although originally devised as “neutral ground”, it now has become the chosen “battleground” between competing interests who are trying to establish their primacy over the course of the future.
There is one other aspect that we should pay attention to in the Eight House. Washington’s progressed Saturn is conjunct with the natal Uranus. This relationship focuses on the occurrence of a major event that could lead to a new direction. The fact that this is also in the house of transformation gives this an increased significance as well.
Looking at the sky, one cannot help but hearken to the words of that ancient soothsayer: “Take heed of the Ides of March”. With the dynamic energies which are abounding, the only true surprise would be if there weren’t something new under the sun. How we react to these changes will, ultimately determine their impact on our future. And, in the final analysis, if we falter, one cannot blame astrology, or psychics for the outcome.
