This winter of 2012 will cause people to become ever more aware of the economic downturn. It will be apparent over the winter that the economic recovery will still be in a slump that seems to never end.
Below are a few things to help you understand the world around you over the winter of 2012.
On A Personal Level
2012 is a year for change and not the ordinary kind. We have all felt that change is coming which is causing most people to fear the future. Planning ahead, especially financially, will be the key to this year. If you are thinking about changing careers, then procrastination will not be your friend.
It will be very important to get into a job that you know you have always wanted to do. If you have been putting it off, now is the time to get on with your plans to make it a reality. If you have to start part-time, then do it and do not waste time.
The changes coming are urging you to put to use things you actually know you’d like to be doing. There is no better time to get moving in the direction you know you would be good at. If you don’t, more frustration, fear and insecurity will be the dominant theme in your life, especially during the winter of 2012.
You can do something as a person to make yourself feel like you will be safe no matter what. To make yourself feel safe, do whatever it takes to become more independent financially. It might be storing food for a rainy day or starting that savings account and actually putting whatever you can it in. Whatever it is, now is the time to get started.
The Economy
We cannot do much about the economy in the US or around the world. Everywhere we turn, it’s on the news day after day. However, we don’t need to listen to it all of the time. It is time to get some meaning in your life in small ways, especially doing things that do not cost tons of money.
Upsets Around The World
There will be more riots in the UK as heating oil will become scarce and many people will suffer in January and February. This type of situation could spread to other parts of Europe, like Spain and Ireland.
There will be more friction between Germany and France as they will disagree on how each other handles finances.
Generally, the economy in the USA will lose ground over the winter months and the continuing downfall in the housing market will be under reported by the media. As more jobs are lost, a feeling of anxiety, insecurity and depression will permeate the USA.
There will be more scandals coming up in the 2012 in our government. The general public will become even more aware of wasteful government spending because the people suffering are getting no relief at all.
The Congress will be facing gridlock on many issues, including healthcare which will remain a topic much of the year. There will be ridiculous compromises so that each party can get votes from the other. All will include more spending even though the general public is fed up with miss-spent tax dollars.
It will be apparent that it is more about power struggles in the Congress than it is giving the American people what they really want – jobs and a safe home to live in.
We are going to hear more about a change in social security which will affect millions of people who depend on it. It will become apparent that much of the social security money has been tapped for other uses. This is the one thing that the Congress will try to pass in another bill so that it goes unnoticed until it is too late.
Inflation On The Rise
The price of commodities such as gasoline, heating oil and natural gas will be on the rise over the winter months. It will come at a time when people will feel it the most; especially right after a lean Holiday Season in 2011. Shipments may be delayed in the colder regions due to snow, especially in the UK.
We will begin to see inflation more and more as the year 2012 rolls forward. Everything you buy will cost more. Food will be no exception. Be prepared and stock up now on the things you use the most; you’ll be glad you did.
More City Services Cut
Many States will see more cuts in services, such as police and fire departments. Cities finally have to cut spending because they cannot print money; only the Federal Government can. Keep this in mind as you hear that some of these services will affect you and your neighborhood directly. The public will become very, very upset.
There will be many more prisoners being let out of jail early mainly because the states, especially on the West Coast, have run out of money to support the existing system and there are no plans to build more facilities. This will increase the crime rate in densely populated cities, especially in California. This, too, will be under reported in the main stream media.
